Terriers Compete in State Meet

Congratulations to the Vandebilt Cross Country teams for a fine
showing at the State Championship Meet in Natchitoches. The
Lady Terriers finished 7th lead by Alexis Guidry who finished
33rd, Ayme Haydel who finished 40th, and Emily Carrere who
finished 47th. These girls are all underclassmen who will return
next year.

They Terrier's Boys team finished 3rd. Coach Dave Malone
stated this is the highest finish ever that he knows of for a VCHS
boys cross country team.  Ross Mullooly and Justin Babin earned
All State honors finishing 9th and 10th respectively followed by
Chris Watson who finished 21st. According to Coach Malone this
is also the first time we have had 2 boys finish in the top 10.

Congratulations to Coach Dave Malone and the entire V.C.H.S.
Terrier Cross Country Team.

Vandebilt boys win District 8-4A title - girls get second

The Vandebilt Catholic boys’ cross country team captured its fourth straight
District 8-4A title Tuesday at the Gretna Park.

The Terriers scored 30 points to edge Shaw (46) and Belle Chasse (51) for the
championship.

Ross Mullooly led the Terriers by finishing second with a time of 17 minutes, 12
seconds. Other Terrier runners were Justin Babin (fourth, 17:22), Chris Watson
(fifth, 17:49), Bruno Doria (eighth, 18:15) and Beau Martin (11th).

Shaw’s Kyle Lessia won the boys’ individual title with a time of 16:55.
Vandebilt’s girls’ team finished second with 34 points. Belle Chasse won the girls’
district title with 21 points, and Helen Cox was third with 85 points.

Alexis Guidry led the Lady Terriers with a time of 22:09 for a second-place finish.
She was followed by Emily Carrere (fifth, 22:47), Logan LeBlanc (eighth, 23:74),
Amy Donaldson (ninth, 23:35) and Ayme Haydel and Morgan Lirette (tied for
10th, 23.36).

Belle Chasse’s Elizabeth Hingle won the girls’ individual title with a time of 21.31.
